BOOK EXCERPT:

"In an ancient cave in the mountains of Israel animal skins, centuries old, with strange markings on its dusty and dirty surface, were found by a mountain hiker who gathered the skins and took them to his home. Authoritative sources believe that if the ancient markings on the skins can be deciphered it could change history and solve the bitter dispute between Israelis and Muslims of the occupation of Jerusalem. The struggle for the ownership of the finding results in conflicts that claims lives and threaten those who have possession of the treasure. The Finding is a story of intrigue, love of country and the passionate lives of the people who the finding brings together. It is an adventure that by-passes the usual novel of pages of descriptive scenery, dcor and fashion. It travels at a fast literary pace through its sixty chapters and climaxes in an ending that brings the finding to life."

While on a trip to a nearby department store, the author got the idea for this story by watching the scene of his very young daughter choose a toy bunny from a box full of bunnies. The choice of a plain bunny over fancy bunnies gave him the idea of writing the tale from the viewpoint of the toy as if even the most plain of bunnies deserves a loving home.

Chapter I SOS The venerable President of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale had been speaking. He paused now to look out over the sea of faces that filled the great hall in serried waves. He half turned that he might let his eyes pass over the massed company on the platform with him. The Stratosphere Control Board--and they had called in their representatives from the far corners of Earth to hear the memorable words of this aged man. From the waiting audience came no slightest sound; the men and women were as silent as that other audience listening and watching in every hamlet of the world, wherever radio and television reached. Again the figure of the President was drawn erect; the scanty, white hair was thrown back from his forehead; he was speaking: " ... And this vast development has come within the memory of one man. I, speaking to you here in this year of 1974, have seen it all come to pass. And now I am overwhelmed with the wonder of it, even as I was when those two Americans first flew at Kittyhawk.

BOOK EXCERPT:

First published in 1882, The Perfect Way or The Finding of Christ is Anna Kingsford's attempt to bring together Christianity and the Theosophical tradition, which supposes a system of fundamental truths from which all religions are born and seeks to identify that wisdom so that humans may move further along their path to perfection. This perfection, according to Kingsford, is exemplified by Christ, which she sees as a category of person and not a particular historical person. In this construction, anyone is capable of a becoming a Christ and joining with the Divine. Students of religion and spiritual seekers will find this book an interesting read from a once popular religious and philosophical movement. English physician ANNA BONUS KINGSFORD (1846-1888) was also one of the first women in England to be granted a medical degree and served as onetime president of the Theosophical Society. She is also the author of Clothing with the Sun (1889). English writer EDWARD MAITLAND (1824-1897) assisted Anna Kingsford in writing several books and then opened the Esoteric Christian Union in 1891.
