BOOK EXCERPT:

'I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.'Elizabeth Bennet's first impression of wealthy Fitzwilliam Darcy is that he's arrogant and condescending. Conversely, Darcy doesn't appear to notice Elizabeth's lively wit nor unique beauty. However, their closed social circle means they cannot avoid one another - especially as Elizabeth's beloved sister is being courted by Darcy's best friend. When Elizabeth learns of Darcy's manipulations to keep her sister from wedded happiness, as well as news that he has been similarly uncharitable with his charming childhood mate, she is determined she will never like Darcy. Through a whirl of dances, house visits, marriage schemes, and misguided attempts to deflect and deceive, it will take some time for both Elizabeth and Darcy to correct the error of a bad impression and find, should cooler heads prevail, a true marriage of minds.

Acclaimed by Jane Austen fans around the world, Linda Berdoll, Amanda Grange, and Sharon Lathan have spun rousing tales of Darcy and Elizabeth to collectively more than half a million raving fans. Now dive into the world of Jane Austen continuations and sequels with these three reader favorites, one each from three of the world's most renowned authors in the genre. This bundle includes three full novels: Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, by Linda Berdoll; Mr. Darcy's Diary, by Amanda Grange; and Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy: Two Shall Become One, by Sharon Lathan. Fun, funny, and true to the voice and spirit of Jane herself, these three books will bring you to Pemberley and take you places you never expected! About the Books in This Bundle: Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, by Linda Berdoll Hold on to your bonnets! This sexy, epic, hilarious, poignant and romantic sequel to Pride and Prejudice goes far beyond Jane Austen. Linda Berdoll, author of Darcy & Elizabeth: Nights and Days at Pemberley, delivers a fun, steamy story that's been embraced by hundreds of thousands of fans. Every woman wants to be Elizabeth Bennet Darcy-beautiful, gracious, universally admired, strong, daring and outspoken-a thoroughly modern woman in crinolines. And every woman will fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy-tall, dark and handsome, a nobleman and a heartthrob whose virility is matched only by his utter devotion to his wife. Their passion is consuming and idyllic-essentially, they can't keep their hands off each other-through a sweeping tale of adventure and misadventure, human folly and numerous mysteries of parentage. Mr. Darcy's Diary, by Amanda Grange Monday 9th September "I left London today and met Bingley at Netherfield Park. I had forgotten what good company he is; always ready to be pleased and always cheerful. After my difficult summer, it is good to be with him again. ..." The only place Darcy could share his innermost feelings was in the private pages of his diary. Torn between his sense of duty to his family name and his growing passion for Elizabeth Bennet, all he can do is struggle not to fall in love. Mr. Darcy's Diary presents the story of the unlikely courtship of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy from Darcy's point of view. This graceful imagining and sequel to Pride and Prejudice explains Darcy's moodiness and the difficulties of his reluctant relationship as he struggles to avoid falling in love with Miss Bennet. Though seemingly stiff and stubborn at times, Darcy's words prove him also to be quite devoted and endearing- - qualities that eventually win over Miss Bennet's heart. This continuation by Amanda Grange, bestselling author of Mr. Darcy, Vampyre, is charming and elegant, much like Darcy himself. "Absolutely fascinating. Amanda Grange seems to have really got under Darcy's skin and retells the story, in diary form, with great feeling and sensitivity." - Historical Novel Society Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy: Two Shall Become One, by Sharon Lathan Sharon Lathan, author of In the Arms of Mr. Darcy, presents Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy, a fascinating portrait of a timeless, consuming love -- and the sweetest, most romantic Jane Austen sequel. It's Darcy and Elizabeth's wedding day, and the journey is just beginning as Jane Austen's beloved Pride and Prejudice characters embark on the greatest adventure of all: marriage and a life together filled with surprising passion, tender self-discovery, and the simple joys of every day. As their love story unfolds in this most romantic of Jane Austen sequels, Darcy and Elizabeth reveal to each other how their relationship blossomed. From misunderstanding to perfect understanding and harmony, theirs is a marriage filled with romance, sensuality, and the beauty of a deep, abiding love.

BOOK EXCERPT:

Autism was not a recognised disorder in Jane Austen's lifetime, nor for well over a century after her death. However there were certainly people who had autism, and Phyllis Ferguson Bottomer proposes that Austen wrote about them, without knowing what it was that she was describing. So Odd a Mixture looks at eight seemingly diverse characters in Austen's classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, who display autistic traits. These characters - five in the Bennet family and three in the extended family of the Fitzwilliams - have fundamental difficulties with communication, empathy and theory of mind. Perhaps it is high-functioning autism or Asperger's Syndrome that provides an explanation for some characters' awkward behaviour at crowded balls, their frequent silences or their tendency to lapse into monologues rather than truly converse with others. This fascinating book will provide food for thought for students and fans of Austen's classic novel, and for anyone interested in autism spectrum disorders.

BOOK EXCERPT:

When Bingley leaves the countryside suddenly and makes no attempts to contact Jane anymore, the young woman is heartbroken. Elizabeth, who had thought well of Bingley, believes that there is something amiss in the way that he left Jane in the lurch. Only when Elizabeth goes to visit her friend at the estate of Darcy's aunt does the mystery begin to unfold. After several encounters with Mr. Darcy while visiting her friend, Elizabeth is shocked when Darcy proposes to her. Elizabeth refuses him and questions him about the way that he misused her soldier friend and his undoubted role in the way that Bingley abandoned Jane. Darcy writes a letter to explain himself, and Elizabeth is embarrassed to learn that she had been mislead about Darcy's character. Had she known the truth, she would have loved Darcy as he loved her. Darcy leaves that part of the country before she can sort out her feelings and make amends with him. Then she meets him again when she is touring the gardens of his estate with her aunt and uncle. Darcy treats her with kindness and she believes he may still love her, but before anything can be done about it, she learns that one of her younger sisters has shacked up with the very soldier who mislead Elizabeth and the rest of her family about Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth returns home immediately. When the indignity of her sister's shot-gun wedding is straightened out, Elizabeth is surprised that Darcy returns to the country with Bingley. She expected that the shame of her sister's actions had ruined any chances of a relationship with Mr. Darcy, or Jane and Bingley. Elizabeth learns from her aunt that Darcy did a great part to help get her younger sister properly married to the infamous soldier. Jane and Bingley sort out the misunderstanding that drove him away before and get engaged. Then Elizabeth and Darcy work out their misunderstandings and agree to marry.
